Community Garden

This is the second year for Holy Family Community Garden.  This garden was started as a project to offer fresh produce as an extension of our Food Pantry, as well as to our Community and Parish Family.   We started this project with a small group of eight volunteers, each bringing special skill sets which made this garden a reality.  We planted cucumbers, green beans, tomatoes and peppers; these were available to everyone.  We started small the first year, and we just keep on growing!

The Community Garden is  a group you can join and work as much or as little as you wish.  We need people willing to work in all aspects of this project—you do not need to be an experienced gardener, just someone who wants to make a difference in our Community.

The crops right now are plentiful, and we are looking for some new “Gardening Buddies” to tend to the garden. This is a great project for parishioners to get involved and make a difference in the parish community and Granite City community, too. If you are interested, contact the Parish Office at 618-877-7158.
