Our parish is dedicated to providing assistance to our parishioners and those in the community with various needs which may require immediate attention. These needs will be addressed confidentially on a one-on-one basis. Our second objective is to support our surrounding community with various outreach programs as well as direct them to other area wide services that may be available to them.
Food Pantry
The food pantry serves individuals of our community in need with primarily non-perishable food items. Most of our current clients do not have transportation. We are open several days a month, unless immediate assistance of an individual is needed. Donations come from the school children once a week, our parishioners, and outside individuals. When monetary donations are given, perishable items are purchased to distribute.
Right to Life
Our Right to Life is committed and dedicated in effort, talent and prayer to the protection of all human life from the moment of conception to natural death, desiring to increase public awareness that the Right to Life is a precious gift from God. This group organizes and leads life-oriented activities, and prays the Rosary at the abortion facility in Granite City for an end to abortion.
Ministers of Communion to the Homebound
The Ministers of Communion take the Eucharist to our shut-ins (both in their homes and those in their care) who are unable to attend Mass.
Thanksgiving/Christmas Food Basket Outreach
Food Baskets are prepared and given to anyone who finds themselves in need of assistance. Parishioners who are able, donate non-perishable items and any money collected is used for perishables. The Men’s Club supplies the turkeys.
Christmas Giving Tree Outreach
The Giving Tree was established for those families who need assistance at Christmas. Families fill out forms with gift items their child/children would like or need. These items are placed on ornaments and put on a tree for parishioners to pick from and purchase.
